Haiku

April 18, 2020

Lake Wingra on April 18, 2020.

Four Haiku

Thirty-five degrees.

Ducks moved to deeper waters.

Some scattered near shore.

This is what I saw.

Two Blue-winged Teals scattering –

and birds not so scared.

Two Herring Gulls swoop –

having a playful dogfight –

over Lake Wingra.

With large duck flocks gone –

the home team has advantage.

Mallards rule again.
