Four Haiku
It's thirty-seven.
Cranes fly over Ho-Nee-Um.
And, two cranes in park.
And more Sandhill Cranes!
Two skim Lake Wingra's surface –
on way to Chase Spring.
Coots seem to be gone.
Wingra but a way station –
for their trip up north.
Duck swims straight – head down.
Identification hard.
Northern Shoveler?

Kigo – a seasonal reference.
Note: I saw what I thought was a large muskrat swimming straight toward a dock. It swam about 30 feet and, just when it was about to hit the dock, its head popped up. It was not a muskrat but a duck.
