Veiny Pea - Lathyrus venosus (Native/Hazardous)
Veiny Pea has 10 to 20 purple/pink, pea-shaped flowers clustered at the end of a finely hairy stem arising from a leaf axil.
The lower wing petals are pale pink to nearly white. The flowers are about 3/4" long.
Veiny Pea grows in dry, moderate moisture to wet areas such as prairies, woods and streambanks.
Other names: Forest Pea, Veiny pea-vine, Wild Sweet Pea, Bushy Vetch.
Blooms April - July.
