Four Haiku

 

It's seventy-nine.

Stiff breeze off of Lake Wingra.

Torch like Gayfeather.



Heron in cattails.

Turkeys crossing Odana.

Cranes by Steven's Pond.



A first in my life.

I was shown a special treat.

a Humming Bird's nest.



Deftly camouflaged.

With spider silk and lichen –

that mimics spruce branch.
