Field Bindweed - Convolvulus arvensis (Invasive)
Convolvulus: from Latin convolvere, "to twine around"
In the morning glory family, Field Bindweed is a naturalized introduced plant in Wisconsin. It is a perennial vine with hairy stems that creeps on the ground (or might climb another plant or fences).
It prefers disturbed sites.
Field Bindweed blossoms are trumpet-shaped and range in color from pure white to pink. Each flower has 5 petals fused together with a spot of yellow at the throat.
Field Bindweed flowers usually lasts only 1 day, opening in the morning and closing in the afternoon, but may stay open all day in favorable conditions.

Field bindweed is introduced and has naturalized in Wisconsin. It is considered invasive - Eradicate. It's habitat is distubed sites. The flower is smaller than that of Hedge Bindweed and the 5 stamens and a pistil have a divided style.

Low False Bindweed (Calystegia spithamaea) is a native plant that has a flower very similar to Hedge Bindweed but Calystegia spithamaea have short, non-twining stems and the leaves are generally rounded and oval shaped.
