Purple Prairie Clover - Dalea purpurea/Petalostemum purpureum
Purple Prairie Clover is a native plant that grows in full sun in prairies and meadows. It grows from 1' to 3' in height.
Purple Prairie Clover inflorescence (the complete flower head of a plant including stems, stalks, bracts, and flowers) is up to 2 1/2" long.
The purple, 5-parted flowers bloom on a dense spike from the bottom upward.
Purple Prairie Clover blooms from June through August.
